Vital Signs: New Hampshire Economic and Social Indicators is an annual publication that reviews the New Hampshire economy in eighteen categories. The previous four years are examined in tables comparing the statistics of that time period. A narrative of recent happenings within the category are augmented with charts and graphs.

New Hampshire’s economic and social indicators is designed to present many significant aspects of the state’s economic, social, and environmental structure. Five years of data are reported, when available, to depict recent trends.

Some data are drawn from published reports or unpublished records of many state and federal government agencies and private organizations. Attention should be paid to notations included with the line titles about data size and time intervals used. Whenever possible, the most recent year’s updates are reported along with other information in the accompanying summary analysis.

The data items are shown in separate chapters according to subject topic. Each subject topic includes tables with the most recent updated related data, as well as analysis of recent trends. Chapter subject topics include:
