Career Resources
New Hampshire Employment Security's Economic & Labor Market Information Bureau's Career Resources information includes data on education, jobs, occupations, and careers. It also includes tools for using this information in career and educational planning to all who may benefit from such information. Those groups include, but are not limited to educators, students, parents, counselors, dislocated workers, staff of government agencies and community-based organizations, and others in the fields of education, training, and employment.
Job Match System (JMS)
The Job Match System (JMS) allows job seekers to conduct a job search using Internet spider technology to view jobs posted by employers and match skills to positions posted on national job boards and private industry web sites.
O*Net Online
O*NET Online is an interactive application for exploring and searching occupations. O*NET has detailed descriptions of the world of work for use by job seekers, workforce development and HR professionals, students, researchers, and more! The database also provides the basis for O*NET's Career Exploration Tools, a set of valuable assessment instruments for workers and students looking to find or change careers.
My Next Move
My Next Move is an interactive tool for job seekers and students to learn more about their career options. The site has tasks, skills, salary information, and more for over 900 different careers. Users can find careers through keyword search; by browsing industries that employ different types of workers; or through the O*NET Interest Profiler, a tool that offers personalized career suggestions based on a person's interests and level of work experience.
mySkills myFuture
mySkills myFuture helps laid-off workers and other career changers find new occupations to explore. Users can identify occupations that require skills and knowledge similar to their current or previous job, learn more about these suggested matches, locate local training programs, and/or apply for jobs.
Career InfoNet
America's Career InfoNet helps individuals explore career opportunities to make informed employment and education choices. The Web site features user-friendly occupation and industry information, salary data, career videos, education resources, self-assessment tools, career exploration assistance, and other resources that support talent development in today's fast-paced global marketplace.
Trade Adjustment Assistance
The New Hampshire Department of Employment Security administers the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) programs. The TAA program is available to workers who lose their jobs or whose hours of work and wages are reduced as a result of increased foreign imports. If you are one of a group of workers who have been certified as eligible for Trade Act benefits, you may qualify for some or all of the types of assistance.
NH Working - Return to Work (RTW) Initiative
The Return to Work initiative is a voluntary program to provide a structured, supervised training opportunity to unemployed non-claiming NH residents, and eligible NH claimants, while continuing to collect unemployment compensation. The training program may be up to six weeks, and a maximum of 24 hours per week.
USDOL Apprenticeship Program
Registered Apprenticeship helps mobilize America's workforce with structured, on-the-job learning in traditional industries such as construction and manufacturing, as well as new emerging industries such as health care, information technology, energy, telecommunications and more. Registered Apprenticeship connects job seekers looking to learn new skills with employers looking for qualified workers, resulting in a workforce with industry-driven training and employers with a competitive edge.
